Worthing’s Youth Council is currently exploring the history of Worthing Pier through its HLF Funded “Worthing Pier Past, Present and Future Project. Today a Time Capsule containing poems, stories, letters and artwork from young Youth Council members and pupils in schools across Worthing, was buried on the Pier.

The capsule will remain buried until 2035 when it will be opened and its contents viewed and read by the next generation of Worthing residents.

Present with the Youth Council on the Pier for the ceremony were Worthing Borough Mayor, Vic Walker, Councillor Charles James and Paul Holden from the Worthing Journal.
