The Worthing Past, Present and Future Pier Poetry competition was an opportunity this summer for young people aged from 5 to 18 to record in words their memories of the Pier.

Featured below is the runners-up poem “Worthing Pier” from the primary category written by Isaac Sage and Bobby Read both aged 11 who attend West Park C of E First and Middle School.

Our Pier

On the Beach

fun…fun…fun

Ice cream tasty

It won’t be pasty

Happy days all summer long

Paddling, swimming is so fun

Please don’t drown

That won’t be fun

Happy days all summer long

Swimming, ice cream been so fun

Time to pop into the arcade

Now all evening long

Time to go home now

Hope to come back soon
