What did Worthing Pier and beach look like 100 years ago?

By 1900 seaside towns like Worthing had become popular seaside resorts. Day Trippers and holidaymakers would spend their time at the seaside eating  ice cream, fish and chips, riding on donkeys, paddling and making sandcastles on the beach. From the Pier on a sunday afternoon couples out walking, fishermen and the elderly would see young and old on the beach and in the water in either Victorian swimwear or with trousers and skirts rolled up to keep dry.

Look carefully at collection of clothing and souvenirs that date from 1900 to 1914. How different was the seaside then to how it is today?
